We offer practicum and internship opportunities throughout the year, accommodating the diverse start dates and program requirements of various graduate and undergraduate degree programs. Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s level internship: Enrollment in a CACREP or COAMFT accredited Master’s level mental-health-related degree program
  • Bachelor’s level internship: Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program with a focus on mental health or related fields
  • Experience working with youth and families
  • Commitment of at least 15 hours per week for 2 semesters
  • Flexibility for evening and/or weekend assignments
  • Adherence to service operation standards, documentation, and confidentiality guidelines

 Outpatient Therapist Seeking Licensure

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate outpatient therapist seeking licensure to join our dynamic team. Most of the work is provided remotely, with occasional in-office duties on a quarterly basis. As an integral part of our agency, you will have the opportunity to provide essential mental health services to clients, focusing primarily on individual and group therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct crisis assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Coordinate services within the agency and with external referral agencies.
  • Provide remote outpatient mental health services to clients.
  • Perform in-office duties on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in behavioral health counseling.
  • Proficient computer skills for remote service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with youth and families.
  • Availability for evening and/or weekend assignments.
  • Adherence to the highest standards of service operations, documentation, and confidentiality.

 In-Home Mental Health Counselor

We are seeking a dedicated In-Home Mental Health Counselor to join our team and provide crucial support to clients at risk of out-of-home placement within their home setting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support, coaching, advice, and educational services to clients and their families for 9 to 10 hours per case on a weekly basis.
  • Manage responsibilities for Individual Service Plans (ISPs), as well as monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Collaborate in the planning of services for clients.
  • Offer parent education and support to foster a supportive family environment.
  • Demonstrate and teach effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Implement various behavioral, social, and recreational interventions in the client’s home and community as needed.
  • Facilitate connections to community-based services and provide advocacy and support for families utilizing these services.
  • Provide training in Independent Daily Living (IDL) and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to address Mental Health Skills Building.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling, or equivalent).
  • At least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
  • Proficiency in counseling skills and techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mental health services, agencies, and diagnoses.
  • Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, and TOVA behavioral management training.
  • Eligibility for employment confirmed through a successful criminal and central registry check.
  • Ability to present Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) status with the VA Board of Counseling, or the capability to obtain attestation from previous employment in the mental health field.

QMHP – TRAINEE:

If you are pursuing your Qualified Mental Health license but lack the necessary hours required by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), we offer the opportunity for supervised training under a licensed professional. Mental Health Paraprofessional

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Paraprofessionals to join our team and provide crucial support to individuals and families in need of mental health services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing direct support and guidance to clients and their families in accordance with established treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to implement interventions and activities that promote mental health and well-being.
  • Support clients in developing and enhancing their daily living skills and coping mechanisms.
  • Facilitate access to community resources and external services to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients and their families.

Position Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a mental health or related setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and build trust with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
  • Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certifications required for the role.
